EVA hosts specialist training courses, workshops, network and forum meetings and other events throughout the year to help community groups develop their staff, volunteers and trustees.

Talking to our communities – how can we take our communications a step up? 

EVA CONSULTATION | Tuesday 24 May | 10am to 12pm | Online via Microsoft Teams

Help shape EVA’s new communications grants programme. We are looking at how local organisations communicate with their members, users or client groups. Are you reaching everyone? What are the difficulties? What do you need to get your message across more effectively?

Training | Roles and responsibilities of a trustee

Wednesday 25 May 2022 | 10am – 4pm | Community House, 311 Fore Street, N9 0PZ

For trustees or management committee members from voluntary and community organisations that are new to the role, or who want to improve their governance.


Meet the Funders Roadshow | event 1

Wednesday 8 June 2022 | 10am to 3pm | Salisbury House Arts Centre,  Bury Street West, Edmonton N9 9LA 

Come and hear presentations from three major grants makers and have a one-to-one advice session with representatives from these funders: 

  • National Lottery Community Fund
  • National Lottery Heritage Fund
  • Arts Council England  

EVA staff will also be on hand with advice and information.


Digital training | Digital tools for engaging online sessions  

Wednesday 8 June | 10am – 12pm | Online via Zoom 

Digital training session organised by EVA and provided by Superhighways. Gain confidence in using a range of free or low cost online tools to make your online sessions and meetings more interactive, engaging and fun. Looking at online polls, surveys and quizzes, and more. Including Office 365, Google forms and other popular tools.

Enfield Volunteer Organisers Network (EVON)

Thursday 9 June 2022 | 10.20am – 12pm | Online via Microsoft Teams

Informal meeting for those with responsibility for volunteer programmes at Enfield organisations.

This month’s key topic: Learn how to use Otter, an app or online tool that can automatically convert audio recordings into text. It’s great for capturing the stories and experiences of your volunteers, beneficiaries or clients. You can also use it to produce notes of meetings or interviews. The training will cover the free version of Otter, and also look at other similar tools. 

Plus: introductions, networking time and a chance to find out about our Junior Apprentice Challenge Enfield.

Digital training | Cyber security for small organisations

Wednesday 22 June | 10am – 12.30pm | Online via Zoom
