Becoming an employer – PAYE and payroll

Tuesday 15 October 2024 | 10am to 1pm | Community House, 311 Fore Street, London N9 0PZ

The course will cover registering as an employer with HRMC and the relevant compliance duties, the basics of Pay as You Earn (PAYE), when to pay and how to calculate what is due. You will also gain an overview of tax, National Insurance and pension auto-enrolment.


EVA annual conference 2024: funding and spaces + EVA AGM

Thursday 24 October 2024 | 10am to 2.30pm, with lunch provided | Community House, 311 Fore Street, London N9 0PZ

With presentations from key funding bodies and an opportunity to meet the funders.

There will be a chance to find out about Enfield office space, meeting rooms and activity venues available to community groups at our spaces “marketplace” with stalls from a range of local organisations. Plus time for participants to network and enjoy some food together.

There will also be a very brief EVA AGM session.

Celebrating success: reporting the impact of what you do

You are running a great project – but how do you best tell the story of your achievements? How can you show funders that your work really does make a difference? This course will help you understand how to showcase and communicate your achievements with minimal effort.


Enfield Volunteering Fair 2024 – stallholder booking

Local community and voluntary groups can now book stalls for this year’s Enfield Volunteering Fair. It’s a great opportunity to let Enfield residents know about your work and recruit volunteers.

Enfield Cost of Living Network Homelessness Conference

As our local communities continue to face an entrenched and unprecedented housing crisis, EVA’s Cost of Living Network Homelessness Conference presents a great opportunity to hear from local and national expert organisations, and to find out how they can help your organisation support local residents who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. 

Lunch will be provided, and there will be opportunities to debate local housing issues and network with other attendees. 


Budgeting and full cost recovery

Thursday 21 November 2024 | 10am to 2.30pm | Community House, 311 Fore Street, London N9 0PZ

This course is for those who are not finance specialists, but need to be able to understand how to cost a project and maintain an organisational budget. Staff, volunteers and treasurers are welcome. The course is suitable for those with little previous knowledge of budgeting and costing.

Makaton awareness – making your organisation more inclusive

Thursday 5 December 2024 | 10am to 1pm | Online

A comprehensive and practical overview of the Makaton language. Find out how you can use Makaton symbols and signs to promote more inclusive communication with children and young people who have complex communication needs.

You will learn and practise some everyday vocabulary in Makaton and get resources to help you learn. With specialist trainer Mike Harris.
