Understanding DBS checks – for organisations with volunteers

This session, part of the regular programme of meetings and training for EVON – Enfield Volunteer Organisers’ Network, will provide an overview of the different levels of DBS criminal record checks that your organisation might need to use in recruiting volunteers. With guest speaker Kiran Rehal, DBS regional outreach adviser for Greater London.


Understanding annual accounts and finances

This session is for anyone who has to put together year-end financial information for a charity or other community organisation, such as a CIC, that has to follow charity accounting rules.


Celebrating success and communicating your impact

You are running a great project – but how do you best tell the story of your achievements? How can you show funders that your work really does make a difference? This course will help you understand how to showcase and communicate your achievements with minimal effort.


Cost of Living and Homelessness Network meeting

The regular meeting of EVA’s Cost of Living and Homelessness Network, with invited speakers from:

  • Enfield Council’s housing and regeneration team 
  • National charity Homeless Link
  • Enfield Temporary Accommodation Forum – a collective of Enfield community groups campaigning together to improve the lives of thousands of local people who live in temporary housing.

British Red Cross community first aid for volunteers

Does your organisation want to have one of your volunteers learn essential, lifesaving first aid skills to help in an emergency? If so, you can book them in for one of our two first aid training sessions. The workshop sessions will be run by experienced British Red Cross educators.

EVA annual conference and AGM

Thursday 22 October 2026 | 9.45am to 2pm | Dugdale Arts Centre, 39 London Road, Enfield Town EN2 6DS

The big in-person event of the year for Enfield community and voluntary groups. This year’s conference will include:

  • Launch of EVA’s Enfield Local Fund – Round 3 grants programme
  • Major update on Enfield Council’s new strategy for community and voluntary groups
  • Expert session on using data to make successful funding bids, from specialist tech charity Superhighways.

Lunch will be provided and there will be time to chat and network informally. There will also be a very brief EVA AGM session.


Enfield Volunteering Fair 2026 – stallholder registration

Stallholder registration deadline | Tuesday 27 October | 5pm

Organisations that would like a stall at the 2026 Enfield Volunteering Fair on Wednesday 11 November should register using this form. If there are more applicants than available places, stalls will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
