EVA Cost of Living and Homelessness Network meeting

Our regular network meeting for community and voluntary groups whose members or clients may be facing problems with the rising cost of living or the threat of homelessness.

This month’s meeting includes three guest speakers from a diverse range of local organisations:


Starting a charity or community group: get the right legal structures

Tuesday 28 January 2025 | 10am to 1pm | Community House, 311 Fore Street, London N9 0PZ

Get the right legal structures in place for your new community or voluntary organisation. This workshop will guide you through the different options – including how to become a registered charity or community interest company (CIC) – and help you put the right governance arrangements in place.

Trustee training: the art of running your organisation – governance and management

For new and new-ish trustees, management committee members and directors – or those who would like a refresher.


EVON – Enfield Volunteer Organisers’ Network meeting

Thursday 13 February 2025 | 10am to 11.30am | Online

Topic: How to develop a community partnership. With guest speaker Francesca Luty, volunteering development coordinator at national charity the Canal and River Trust.


Training: financial controls and procedures

Thursday 20 February 2025 | 10am to 12pm | Online

A training session for trustees, management committee members, staff or volunteers who are responsible for ensuring that their organisation’s funds and other assets are properly safeguarded.


Mental health awareness training, with homelessness charity Shelter

Tuesday 25 February 2025 | 10am to 4pm, with a one-hour break for lunch | Online

Develop your understanding of mental health issues and conditions with this special training session provided by national homelessness charity Shelter.

This course will help Enfield community and voluntary groups who are supporting local residents to identify common signs and symptoms of different mental health problems.


Learn to communicate the Makaton way – and make your organisation more inclusive

Wednesday 26 February 2025 | 10am to 12.30pm | Online

A comprehensive and practical overview of the Makaton language. Find out how you can use Makaton symbols and signs to promote more inclusive communication with children and young people who have complex communication needs.
