Enfield Energy Champions – Q&A for community and voluntary groups

Wednesday 18 March 2026 | 10am to 11.30am | Online

Meeting for organisations that want to take part in the Enfield Energy Champions programme – round 3

Is your community group supporting local residents who are struggling with rising energy costs, worrying about fuel debt, having to choose between heating and eating, or living in cold homes?

The Enfield Energy Champions programme aims to improve the quality of advice your group can provide on dealing with fuel poverty and improving energy efficiency.

Having a trained Enfield Energy Champion is a fantastic opportunity for your organisation to gain more specialist knowledge, so you are better able to help members or clients save money and use energy more efficiently, reducing carbon emissions that harm the environment.

We are now recruiting the next group of Enfield Energy Champions, who will complete an accredited training course over four weekly sessions, starting on Tuesday 28 April 2026.

Funding

This is the final opportunity to sign up to host an energy champion in your community organisation before the first round of Enfield Energy Champions Partnership Funds opens later this year.

Organisations hosting an accredited energy champion will be eligible to apply for up to £5,000 to develop and embed energy advice in their work.

This funding is designed to help community groups build on what their energy champion has learned — strengthening support for local people and expanding energy advice activities in ways that suit your organisation and community.

Other benefits

Enfield Energy Champions will also benefit from:

  • Dedicated resources, refresher sessions, networking opportunities and free access to higher level accredited training.
  • Peer support from a growing community of Enfield Energy Champions – we have already trained more than 20.
  • The ability to refer local people to dedicated fuel debt advice, through Citizens Advice Enfield, and to home-based energy efficiency support from specialist charity HEET

If your organisation has a staff member or regular volunteer who would benefit from this role, and who is motivated to boost the support your group can provide, we would encourage you to nominate them to be your group’s energy champion.

This Q&A session is essential for community groups interested in joining the Enfield Energy Champions programme.

We will explain how the scheme works, what energy champions do in practice and how you can apply for Enfield Energy Champions Partnership Funds. There will be plenty of time for questions.
