Meeting for organisations that want to take part in the Enfield Energy Champions programme
Would your community or voluntary organisation like to be part of the Enfield Energy Champions programme by nominating a member of staff or regular volunteer as an energy champion?
We want to create a network of energy champions who are embedded in community groups across the borough, with the aim of reducing fuel poverty and reducing carbon emissions that harm the environment.
We know a lot of local residents contact their trusted local community groups for help and advice. The Enfield Energy champions scheme will increase the quality of advice and support that local groups can give on fuel poverty and energy efficiency.
Your nominated energy champion will go through an accredited training course so they have the skills and knowledge to help any of your group’s members or clients who are facing fuel poverty problems.
The champions will also be able to refer people to a dedicated fuel debt advice service provided by Citizens Advice Enfield and get access to specialist energy efficiency advice and support from expert charity HEET.
Funding will be available in later years of the programme for groups that would like to set up projects around their energy champion.
The Q&A session is essential for all groups that are interested in being part of the Enfield Energy Champions programme.
Speakers will explain how the scheme works, what energy champions will do, what the host community groups will need to do and how you can nominate your group’s energy champion. There will be lots of time for your questions and answers.
