Meeting the needs of Enfield’s diverse communities

Olli Wells, from London Gypsies and Travellers, who is co-author of a report on how Enfield’s housing crisis has hit Gypsies and Travellers. The report includes an analysis of how twists and turns in council policy over the past decade have affected homeless families of all backgrounds. Olli will speak about local housing challenges in Enfield, and LGT’s work to address and overcome discrimination. 

Hilary Meeks, from Citizens Advice Enfield, and EVA’s Fred Adams-Montantin will explore the relationship between energy poverty and housing insecurity, and highlight resources to support local residents.  

Bashir Yusuf, from Secca, will outline the organisation’s work supporting Enfield’s sizeable Somali community and other migrants through advocacy, advice and skills-based services to deal with a range of housing, welfare, immigration and cost of living issues.

Our regular network meeting for community and voluntary groups whose members or clients may be facing problems with the rising cost of living or the threat of homelessness.
