Training: Mental health and homelessness support

Tuesday 10 December 2024 | 10am to 11.45am | Online

Support for mental health is a critical yet often unmet need among people who are homeless or experiencing insecure housing conditions.

This training session will feature representatives from local charities Displaced and Hearts and Helpers, who will provide two very different perspectives on supporting people who are facing homelessness with their mental health needs, including refugees and migrants.

Janis Furneaux from Hearts and Helpers, based in Ponders End, will detail how the organisation works at a grassroots level, providing informal support to help clients with their mental health issues.

Zey Binboga from Displaced will highlight the mental health challenges that migrants and refugees experience due to the trauma of being displaced while typically being in insecure housing and dealing with cultural differences.

About your attendance confirmation

It is very important that you let us know if you can’t attend a training course or event, or if you are going to be late (so we know that you are coming).

Please let us know by phoning 020 8373 6268 (leave a message) or email us on admin@enfieldva.org.uk

This is because we often have a waiting list of people from other local community groups who would like to attend.

If you don’t turn up on the day – and have not let us know so we can give your place to someone else – you will be depriving another Enfield community group of an important education or networking opportunity. Please help others in the voluntary sector by letting us know if you can’t take up your training place.
