British Red Cross community first aid for volunteers

Friday 9 October 2026 | 10am to 12pm | Community House, 311 Fore Street, London N9 0PZ

Monday 26 October 2026 | 1pm to 3pm | Community House, 311 Fore Street, London N9 0PZ

Does your organisation want to have one of your volunteers learn essential, lifesaving first aid skills to help in an emergency? If so, you can book them in for one of our two first aid training sessions. The workshop sessions will be run by experienced British Red Cross educators and will build your volunteer’s confidence to help in a first aid emergency.

Your volunteer will learn to:

  • perform essential first aid skills
  • build confidence and willingness to help in a first aid emergency
  • assess and manage risks to make informed choices when helping others

The course covers a range of life-saving skills, such as helping someone who is unresponsive, has a head injury, is having seizures or has taken a harmful substance.

It is an introductory first aid course and is not accredited.

Who can attend?

Organisations with volunteers in Enfield can nominate ONE volunteer each for ONE of the sessions. Your volunteer should be aged 19+. The course is delivered by expert charity the British Red Cross and made available at no cost by Volunteer Centre Enfield.

We expect demand for this course to be high and spaces are limited, so please ensure that your volunteer is going to attend – or let us know if they can’t, so we can give their place to someone else.

If the course is oversubscribed, we will put you on a waiting list in case a place becomes available, and we will re-run the sessions later in the year if there is sufficient demand.
