When you request information from Enfield Voluntary Action, sign up to any of our
services or buy things from us, Enfield Voluntary Action obtains information about
you. This statement explains how we look after that information and what we do
We have a legal duty under the Data Protection Act and General Data Protection
Regulation to prevent your information falling into the wrong hands. We must also
ensure that the data we hold is accurate, adequate, relevant and not excessive.
Normally the only information we hold comes directly from you. Whenever we
collect information from you, we will make it clear which information is required in
order to provide you with the information, service or goods you need. You do not
have to provide us with any additional information unless you choose to.
We store your information securely on our computer system, we restrict access to those who have a need to know, and we train our staff in handling the information securely.
Some of our training courses involve other agencies such as accreditation bodies,
which are responsible for accreditation and therefore will need to collect
information to pass to the agency for them to complete their function.
We would also like to contact you in future to tell you about other services we
provide, to keep you informed of what we are doing and ways in which you might
like to support Enfield Voluntary Action. You have the right to ask us not to contact
you in this way. We will always aim to provide a clear method for you to opt out.
You can also contact us directly at any time to tell us not to send you any future
Very occasionally we may carry out a joint mailing with carefully selected other
organisations, in order to tell you about products and services we think you might be
interested in. Again, you have right to withdraw or opt out of this.
You have the right to a copy of all the information we hold about you and to ask EVA
to delete all the data that we have about you.

EVA’s internal database and mailing list. Any items denoted as ‘confidential’ will

From time to time EVA is asked to share organisational information with statutory agencies. EVA will seek permission from relevant groups before disclosing these details. This is in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation (PECR) and the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.

- You have the right to see any information about you that we hold in a retrieval system such as a computer database or paper index system.
- You have the right for your details to be removed from our database
- We may compile statistical data from time to time but this will never include reference to a particular individual.
- In order to keep you up to date with information and events we may include you in our mailing list or email list.
- We will never sell or give our mailing list to a third party.
We will hold your information confidentially. Using the information, we will try to match you with volunteering opportunities that appear to suit your preferences and availability. If we find a match we will contact you with the details of the volunteering opportunity; you can then decide if this is something you would like to become involved with as a volunteer or not. If not, we will continue to look for volunteering opportunities that you may be interested in.
